I'd like you to close your eyes and imagine a time that you felt incredibly calm.
What was going on around you? What had happened just before? Were you with anyone? Where were you? Was there something you could smell near you? Something you could hear? See? Feel?
Write all of this down, and pay attention to your body as you put yourself back into that moment.
Write down how your body feels as well. Where are your shoulders? How are you holding your face? What about your hands? What is your breathing like? You muscle tone?
Use this information to find other times in the coming weeks when you are calm and make a list of them. Is there a theme? Can you try to insert calmness into your every day?
Our calm can come and go, but recognizing it when we have it and enjoying those moments of tranquility help them to stay a little longer.
